Khartoum is a very hot and arid region with temperatures soaring to uncomfortable highs during peak summer. The best time to visit is between December and March when temperatures start to cool down, making your sightseeing experience a lot more pleasant. If you don’t mind the heat, October is a great time to visit, as peak season draws near and you’ll find flights and accommodation at much cheaper rates. Avoid travelling between May and September – the sweltering days and nights are unbearable for most tourists.
