Bora Bora is very safe to visit. The locals and resort staff are friendly and accommodating and you could easily sleep with your doors and windows open. There have been a few instances of petty theft in the past so perhaps keep your expensive belongings in the hotel safe.
There are a number of beautiful resorts and hotels available on Bora Bora, though the island is quite small (29 km²). The prices have been known to be quite pricey but Bora Bora is known for its exclusivity, so don’t be surprised by the amount of money that can be spent!
To get around Bora Bora you will need to use the local boat shuttles that operate within and around the various resorts. There are also local taxis, an irregular local bus that goes into the local city of Vaitape and bicycles that are cheaper to hire outside of the resorts than in them.
