The best thing about summer time in Belfast are the long, long days. Days can start from before 5am and stay sunny until 10pm. That means that you have plenty of time to for sightseeing, long walks and picnics in the summer sun and generally more time to enjoy your time there. Summer falls over July and August and the average temperature is about 22 degrees Celsius during this time. In Belfast, the winter months (December to February) are known to be a bit harsh as it rains quite often with low temperatures. This is however, a great time to visit all the local indoor attractions such as the Ulster Folk Museum and the City Hall, and then to round it all off with a trip to a local pub to enjoy a drink or two with the locals.

Belfast is a great city with lots going for it. It is rated safer than other UK cities in terms of petty crime and general mischief.
On a side note, there has been some tension between groups of residents in the past. It is therefore a good idea to avoid any kind of political conversations to not upset anyone. It would also be best to avoid the city centre if you are there on 12 July, as this is the date that a popular march happens and it can get crowded and a bit rowdy during the event.
